Ok…so you want to start making some videos for you patients.

You’re sold on the concept of just how effective videos are at building trust, expertise, authority and celebrity.  But you’re confused about where to start.

If that sounds familiar you’re in the right place because in today post I want to share with you 3 video templates that you can use to produce an almost endless supply of videos.

Read on to find out more.

Last week we spoke about the power that video has when it comes to cutting through the noise and increasing engagement with your patients.

Remember… that by simply using the word Video in an email subject line boosts open rates by 19%, increases click through rates by 65% and reduces unsubscribes by 26%

Many of us now are sold of videos ability to powerfully communicate your brand, explain the value of your care, and build relationships with your patients and potential patients…..However we get stuck about what kind of videos we should make…arghhhh!

Ok…so lets put end to the confusion.

Let me share with you 3 of my favourite video templates that you can use to produce an almost endless supply of videos.

1. The How To Video.

How to videos are some of my favourite kinds of videos and in my opinion the majority of your videos should be how to videos…in fact this is a how to video right now.

The goal of the how to video is to solve a problem or potential problem that your patient is experiencing right now.

It could be as simple as:

  • Showing them how to strengthen their core muscles,
  • Teaching them your favourite posture exercises
  • or even guiding them through how to cook a quick and nutritious breakfast.

The best how to videos are ones that solve REAL problems for your patients.

2. The Frequently Asked Question.

I introduced you to this template in last weeks video. Getting ideas for your frequently asked videos is a breeze. Over this next week take note of all the questions you get asked….be sure get all your staff involved also.  At the end of the week collate the responses and start making videos about the most frequently asked questions.

Sample ideas for these videos could be:

  • How often should I change my pillow?
  • What’s the right way set up my desk?
  • or perhaps you’re answering the question about why it’s important for children to get their spines checked?

Here’s an example  of Frequently Asked Question Video that I shot for my practice.

3.The Product Update template.

Many health professionals sell supportive products in their practice…things like pillows, books and supplements but sadly many times these products sit on the shelf slowly gathering dust.

Taking the time to shoot a quick video that explains about your new and improved fish oil for example, teaching about it’s benefits, why you took the time to choose this product and who should be taking is a great way to not only add value to your patients but it will help you shift a bunch more stock.

Ok so here’s those templates again

  1. The How To Template,
  2. The Frequently Asked Question Template
  3. The Product Update template

Remember…when it comes time to making videos…don’t try and over complicate it,  you’re not trying to produce an academy award winning movie.

In fact research shows that your patients are more likely to respond to a natural organic style of video than they are with something that’s overproduced.

Keep the videos short 3 -5 minutes is ideal and using your iPhone is the best place to start.

Don’t forget…the good video you make will always be more effective at attracting and retaining patients than the perfect one you don’t.

Got any question?  Be sure to ask them below.

Until next time.

thanks for all you do and  keep savings lives

    1. Hi Michael, Thanks for the feedback – I’ve passed it on to Angus. Whats the number one challenge that you have when it comes to making videos? T

  1. This is great! Awesome examples.
Question: Are the doctors the ones supposed to do the majority of the videos? Or would it be fine for a staff member to do it?

    1. Hi Rodney, thanks for your comments. I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying the videos. Regarding your questions… It really depends on what the videos are about. As a general rule I would suggest have the person who is the “expert” in that area make that video. For instance if you made a FAQ video about appointment times and scheduling visits etc then it would make sense that your front desk staff could absolutely make that video. You might also have “tech staff” that are trained in a wide range of skills beyond just the front desk. Hope this helps.
