It’s All Kevin Costner’s Fault

The Biggest Mindset Mistake That Is Holding Your Practice Back...and It's All Kevin Costner's Fault.

Hi there Angus here from Adio Media,In todays video I want to introduce you to the number one error in thinking that holds natural health practitioners back from having the practice of their dreams and it’s all Kevin Costners fault. Stick around and I’ll tell you more.

In 1989 Kevin Costner had the lead role in a film called Field of Dreams.  For those of you that were alive during that time you might remember the catch phrase of that move being…If you build it they will come.  this phrase was in reference to Kevin Costners character building a baseball pitch out in the middle of nowhere to act as a portal that attracted some dead baseballers, yep, that was plot.

Anyway that catch phrase ended up being the entire marketing strategy for practitioners around the world.   The idea was…that if they built their practice, got the right business cards, signage and just did a good job looking after their patients then the universe would deliver the rest.

Now, whilst this phrase was great for making movies, when it comes to building a thriving, sustainable and profitable health care practice it’s a lousy strategy.

Sadly just being good or even great at what you do isn’t enough for you to be able to build and maintain a sustainable practice. Now I’m not suggesting that you shouldn’t be great at what you do, I’m just suggesting that being great is not enough.

History is littered with with products that were superior in every way and yet failed because of poor marketing. The Betamax Video tape is a perfect example for those of you old enough to remember.   the betamax tape had superior audio and video capabilities and yet is was out marketed by technically inferior VHS video tape.

If it’s a predictable, profitable and sustainable healthcare practice that you’re after then you are going to need to be as good a marketer of what you do as a you are doer of what you do.

When it comes to effective marketing strategies we think it makes sense to be using video.
